Explore the Beaches

With 276 miles of rivers, 25 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline that features nine public beaches, three Great Lakes harbors, nine inland lakes and 73,000 acres of wetlands, Manistee County proudly claims to be where “life meets water.”

In recent years, the residents, elected officials and community organizations of Manistee County have made it a priority to provide universal access to the overwhelmingly diverse resources available here. Whether it be access for anglers in wheelchairs, placing a barrier-free walkway under the feet of those with limited mobility so they can stroll the sugar sand beaches or providing a front row seat to the most picturesque sunsets, Manistee County offers everyone the chance to Explore the Shores.
