Alliance for Economic Success

The Alliance for Economic Success (AES) is an economic development organization servicing Manistee County and the surrounding areas. It defines economic development as improving the economic well-being and quality of life of businesses and employees in the community.

Great Lakes Fishery Trust

The Great Lakes Fishery Trust provides funding to nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to enhance, protect, and rehabilitate Great Lakes fishery resources. The GLFT manages its resources to compensate for the lost use and enjoyment of the Lake Michigan fishery resulting from the operation of the Ludington Pumped Storage Plant.

Michigan Department of Natural Resources

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural and cultural resources for current and future generations.

U.S. Forest Service

Established in 1905, the Forest Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands. Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the Forest Service, summed up the mission of the Forest Service— "to provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run." National forests and grasslands encompass 193 million acres of land, which is an area equivalent to the size of Texas.

The City of Manistee

The City of Manistee was incorporated in 1869 and is the county seat of Manistee County. The City of Manistee operates under state and federal laws, the City Charter, local ordinances and various adopted policies. The Manistee City Council is the legislative and governing body of the city. The council determines policy for the city including establishing ordinances and goals and objectives designed to meet the needs of Manistee’s citizens.

Michigan Natural Resources Finance and Operations Division

The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) began as the "Kammer Recreational Land Trust Fund Act of 1976" via P.A. 204 of 1976. Act 204 created the Michigan Land Trust Fund (MLTF) program to provide a source of funding for the public acquisition of lands for resource protection and public outdoor recreation. Funding was derived from royalties on the sale and lease of State-owned mineral rights.

Manistee County Visitors Bureau

The Manistee County Visitors Bureau is the official travel & tourism organization, incorporated in 1997, as a non-profit agency, to promote Manistee County. The mission of the Manistee County Visitors Bureau is to promote Manistee County as a travel destination and to increase overnight visits.
